GLENWOOD, GA. -- The NBHA Southern Regional Championship was hosted by the AG Preserve Field Trial Club at the AG Preserve at Glenwood, Ga.

AG Preserve has a reputation of providing a top notch event with some of the finest facility's available and hospitality unequaled anywhere else.

The AG Preserve trial could not be possible if not for Darrell Gunby and the Gunby family. The Gunby family has put a lot of time and work into making AG Preserve one of South Georgia's most sought out bird dog heaven year after year.

This year's NBHA event sponsors were Purina ProPlan, which graciously provided dog food to the winners in the Championship and coupons to the Derby and Puppy winners. Other sponsors Garmin provided one of their training collars to the champion and Gun Dog Supply provided their support with certificates.

Judging duties were carried out by Jason Loper and Randy Marsh. Both are experienced dog men. They were very attentive and observed each and every entry throughout the trial. They judged all three stakes and their decisions were well received. Thanks again to Jason and Randy

THE WINNERS

This year's NBHA Southern Regional Champion is Indian Creek Bocephus, white and liver seven-year-old pointer male owned by Ed Marron of Ho Ho Kus, N.J., and handled by Garry Malzone. "Bo" ran in the first brace of the trial and set the standard with a good forward race and six finds.

NBHA Southern Regional Open Shooting Dog Championship

In the seventh brace, Pure Confidence, also a seven-year-old white and liver pointer male owned by Black Meadow Kennels and handled by Garry Malzone, was named runner-up with a strong race and four finds.

Conditions for this stake was very warm with several dogs not able to finish the hour in the heat.

Two other dogs that finished their hour with quality performances were Palm Glades Blitz, German shorthaired pointer male owned by Lindsay Cuming of Ehrhardt, S. C., in the second brace, and Forsberg's Hello Dolly, pointer female owned by Karl Forsberg of Lexington, S. C., in the sixth brace.

Tenth and final brace of the Championship was Sam Ridings handling Caird's Lefty to a nice showing; he was braced with Kenric Delong's pointer Faith's Maximum Justice.

If there was an award for the farthest travel Ken may have earned that, since he came from Greenville, Mich.

NBHA Southern Regional Open Shooting Dog Championship 3

Second went to Georgia Born Braveheart, pointer male owned and handled by Samuel Ridings. Third was Swift Creek Barney, setter male owned and handled by Benji Stephens.

Open Puppy winner was The Treasure Chest, pointer male owned and handled by Cliff Monroe. Second was Panda Express, pointer female owned and handled by Payton Gumby. And third place went to Indian Creek Sprout, pointer female owned by Jillian Stuhr and handled by Garry Malzone.
