The NGSPA Region 3 Championship followed the NGSPA Pheasant Championship. It ran on the prestigious field trial grounds at the Mingo Sportsman Center in Bloomingdale, Ohio. A special "thank you" to our sponsors, Purina Pro Plan and Dogs Unlimited. The NGSPA Region 3 Championship would also like to acknowledge Bill Monk for his effort securing these magnificent grounds for us to compete on. Thank you to Mingo Sportsman's Center for allowing us to host our event on your grounds and hospitality.

In addition to planting pheasant, the NGSPA Region 3 Championship also planted small coveys of quail for this event. Most of the dogs pointed pheasant during their brace, and the few quail finds that were encountered were difficult to put in the air due to the heavy cover and thick feed strips. The weather throughout the championship was overcast, but the temperatures were perfect for running bird dogs.

The NGSPA Region 3 Championship would like to thank the NGSPA board of directors for allowing us to run this event. We would also like to thank everyone who assisted us in transitioning to these new grounds from Wye Island, Maryland. To our judges who took time away from their busy schedules to watch our dogs compete, we are grateful. To the participants who stayed after the NGSPA Pheasant Championship and entered their dogs, we thank you for sponsoring this event.

Coming from Brace 2b, Uodibar's Lover Boy ("Blue"), owned by Sherri Tangsrud and handled by Kirk Loftin, was named champion. From Brace 1a, named runner-up champion was Hi N's Curtain Call ("Charlie"), owned and handled by Hank Lewis.
