Two national qualifiers took on the Camp Robinson trial area in the cold weather that came with it. First on the bill was the Prairie Open All-Age. Daniel Bolton from Mississippi and Steve Auxier from Nebraska were in the saddle. Veteran Westfall's Mandalay, under the guidance of Andy Daugherty for owner Bill Westfall, claimed top honors. In the No. 2 spot was Wynona's All Business for Allen Vincent and owner Robert Rankin. Third was Dunn's True Reign, under Allen Vincent and owner Norris Sims. They ran to the limits and birdwork top-notch.
The Open Derby followed. Local Mike Lemons and Arkansas' Headliner earned first, DS Raising Kane for Ike Todd and owner Alex Richert was second, and in third was Miller's Family Tradition for Korry Rinehart. All should be in the all-age circle next year.
