On April 17 the Sandy Valley Bird Dog Club held its spring trial, at DeCoverly Kennels. The cold and rainy day turned out rough for handlers but good for dogs.

We started our day with a fine group of puppies. Taking home the blue ribbon for his handler Thor Kain was setter male Super Storm Cliff. Cliff is putting together a fine spring season. Second place went to Brittany female Whiskey's Tea Cup. Newcomer to our sport Sam Adams did a fine job with this little Brittany. Third was a fine looking setter female Little Lake Molly, handled by Larry Miles.

Taking home the blue ribbon for Pedja Kazic in our Derby was his classy big running setter male Island Fantasy.

In our Amateur Shooting Dog Stake, which was drew a group of fine dogs, powerful, hard driving pointer male Jerry on Fire sported five good finds and took home the blue ribbon for this reporter. Second place went to Deciding Point, a flashy good looking setter female handled by Thor Kain. Third place went to Huckleberry's Lucky Penny. The always solid pointer female was handled by this reporter.
