Pine Straw Sweet Tea First in the Open Shooting Dog Stake
ROSSVILLE, PA. -- The York Pointer and Setter Club held its spring trial April 27-28 on the club farm in Rossville, Pa.

Judges this year were Daren Boyer and Dave McKay for the Open Shooting Dog, and Ken Huyser and Eric Russell in the Amateur Shooting Dog.

Thank you to our bird planter Steve Boyer for both days. Thanks to Connie Mensch and her crew for breakfast, lunch and Saturday evening dinner.

In the Open Puppy, Erin's Big Casino was first for Eric Russell. Second was Maeberries Jettsettin Jax for owner-handler Taydem Boyer. Taydem also handled Saddle Ridge Thunder to third.

In the Open Shooting Dog, topping the field was setter female Pine Straw Sweet Tea, handled by Jeanette Tracy, with four finds and a strong forward race. Second was Hillhavyn's Wild Child, also handled by Jeanette Tracy, with three finds and a classy race. Third was Sandland Miracle Hodge (Mike Tracy) which had four finds and an unproductive.

In the Amateur Shooting Dog, Sand Mountain Icy, pointer female handled by Greg Strausbaugh, was first with three finds and a classy forward race. Second was North Country Girl with three finds and a back. She was handled by Dave McKay. Third was Irish setter Windfall, handled by Dr. Roger Boser, with one find.
