The Pony Express field trial club came together and hosted their annual Spring trial at Smith Farms in Gentry Mo. This trial was not only highlighted by amazing performances but also maintained the camaraderie that everyone looks forward to each Spring that kicks off the field trial season. Thanks to all of the handlers and owners for their support of the Pony Express Field Trial Club. We would like to thank our judges Mr. Kirk Swanson, Tommy Smith, and Joe Worsham for their time in the saddle judging all of the dogs.
The Pony Express Amateur All-Age with many nice dogs entered into the stake to make a very competitive competition! The stake showed many quality pieces of bird work with each brace of dogs and taking the top honors was Worsham's Super Sport handled by Joe Worsham credited with stylish bird work and a great ground performance. Coming in 2nd was Working Class handled by Steve Auxier. "Mack" showed his all-age ground race pushing to the front and credited with several finds! Bocomo Dutchman for Jay Lewis put on a great ground performance to round out the top 3.
The Pony Express Amateur All-Age Derby was noted as a very competitive derby stake as many showed the qualities of the extreme range, all age independence. The judges mentioned several nice performances and was very exciting to judge. First place honors going to H P Dirty Dancing. Dirty Dancing made for an exciting brace to watch as she showed intensity on the ground and credited with several stylish finds! Second Intensive Spinal Tap showed his good all-age race sticking to the lines and pushing to the front for handler with several finds. Third H P Social Distancing was credited for his ground performance and stylish bird work and hitting his objectives rounding out the field of competitors!
The Heartland All-Age Derby was an exciting stake to watch. 1st place honors going to H P Social Distancing. Hawk had several stylish bird work performance with an exceptional ground performance. Second H P Dirty Dancing. "Birdie" showed a good all-age race with several stylish finds pushing to the front for handler with several finds. Third Nemaha Tap Water was credited for his ground performance with a big breakaway and stylish bird work for Dr. Pat McInteer.
