The Peninsula Bird Hunters ran a U. S. Complete Shooting Dog Association trial on March 20, 2022 at Dr. Aubrey Morgan's Cutter Whiskey Farm in Ahoskie, North Carolina. Many thanks to Berbel Fetkoter for making all of us feel welcome! She wears many hats taking care of everything from cooking, to raising birds, and all in between, for the farm.
Thanks to the many folks that it takes to maintain the farm. They work hard all year and are always making improvements. We can't thank these people enough for letting us run our field trials here.
We would like to thank our judges, John Outlaw and Forrest Gray, for their time. They did an outstanding job giving each dog a fair opportunity to show their work. Both of these gentlemen have run dogs at a high level. We could not have asked for better help. A special thanks to Matthew Flanders, Steve Graham, J. R. Hastings, Gary Winall, Ellen Clements and Jim Jones. The list of people to thank is long and I apologize in advance for leaving someone out. Everyone worked all day to insure a great trial.
The Amateur Puppy was won by Back Creek Suzy for handler Steve Graham. Suzy is winning field trials at a fast pace. I think this is around five in a row, an outstanding feat for any dog. Second was Carolina's Winning Ace for handler Verlene Stephenson. Third was Phillip's New Prospect for Matthew Phillips.
The Open Derby was won by Chippoke's Warrior Girl. Girl had four broke finds for her handler Lee Flanders. Second went to J. R. Hastings' Dolly Parton. Dolly is a nice dog that will win a lot for her handler. Third was Jake the Joker, a very nice pointer male owned by Mitchell Forrester and handled by Jimmy Crandall.
The Shooting Dog was Ringo's Sweet Heart, handled by Verlene Stephenson, Heart continued her winning ways with four finds and a nice race. Second was Chippoke's Cracker Jack with one find and a strong ground race. Rounding out the placements was Mohawk Mill Charmer with one find for her handler Ashby Morgan.
