The Pony Express field trial club came together and hosted their annual Spring trial at Smith Farms in Gentry, Mo. This trial was not only highlighted by amazing performances but also maintained the camaraderie that everyone looks forward to each Spring that kicks off the field trial season. Thanks to all of the handlers and owners for their support of the Pony Express Field Trial Club. We would like to thank our judges Mr. Ken Sanderson, Mr. Greg Hellbush, Mr. Bruce Bryant and Mr. Kirk Swanson, for their time in the saddle judging the dogs.
Pony Express Amateur All-Age
The Pony Express amateur all-age with many nice dogs entered into the stake to make a very competitive competition! The stake showed many quality pieces of bird work with each brace of dogs and taking the top honors was Nemaha Magic Marker handled by Dr. Pat McInteer was 3 nice finds credited with stylish bird work and a great ground performance. Coming in 2nd was Working Class handled by Steve Auxier. "Mack" showed his all age ground race and was credited with several finds. Mack finished the hour reaching at time. Nemaha Tap Water for Dr. Pat McInteer was braced with Working Class. This was an exciting brace with several finds for each of the dogs. The weather with higher wind and a light rain were challenging conditions for both dogs.

Pony Express Amateur Derby
The Pony Express all-age derby was noted as a very competitive derby stake as many showed the qualities of the extreme range, all age independence to judge. 1st place honors going to Nemaha Touch A Grey for Dr. Pat McInteer. He showed intensity on the ground and credited with several stylish finds! 2nd Place: Tews Hotspot for Tommy Smith showed her good all age race sticking to the lines and pushing to the front for handler with 2 finds. 3rd Place: Worsham's Spitfire. Tom was credited for his ground performance and bird work and hitting his objectives rounding out the field of competitors!

Heartland Amateur Derby
The Heartland all-age derby was an exciting stake to watch. 1st place honors going to Worsham's Spitfire for Joe Worsham. "Tom" had a good performance with an exceptional ground performance with bird work. 2nd Place: Tews Hotspot for Tommy Smith showed a good all age race and credited with bird work. 3rd Place: Nemaha Lima Bean did a nice job on the ground and was credited with bird work for Dr. Pat McInteer.
