The Oil Capital Field Trial Club held its fall trial on October 27 at the Ingersol Ranch in Inola, Oklahoma. Getting entries seems challenging in today's environment, and we are no exception. Whatever the reason, we are going to take measures to try to correct this downward trend.
We would like to thank the Ingersol family for their continued generosity in using their ranch to follow our passion.

We decided to schedule our one-day trial for Friday instead of Saturday because of the rain that was forecasted for Saturday and Sunday. It was a good thing that we did because the weather was beautiful on Friday, and the weatherman was accurate in their forecast for the weekend.
Many thanks go to club members Mike Griffin for driving the dog wagon, Steven Burris for planting birds, Jon Humphrey for helping me open gates and marshaling, and Jesse Lambert for helping Mike with the dog wagon.

The All-Age stake was won by Rebel Country Spectre, owned and handled by Lynn Oxendine of Joplin, Missouri. "Tex" had a find on a single at 15, right as you top the little hill on course 1. He went on to have a nice race. Second went to Bromance, owned and handled by Jon Humphrey of Claremore, Oklahoma. "John" had an unproductive at 5 in heavy cover. At 28 he had a find on a single with all in order. He continued to reach, finishing his hour. Third went to Open Range Adeline, owned and handled by your scribe. "Molly" started out making some huge casts and taking in a lot of country on course 2. At 30 she had a covey find with all in order. At 35, she had another find on a pair of birds. She went on hunting at a shorter range in heavy cover.
For the Shooting Dog, all placements were placed on race. First went to Big Whiskey, owned and handled by Buck Neil of Fort Worth, Texas. Second went to Game Plan Unknown, owned by Larry Hedge of Sedgewick, Kansas, and your scribe. Third went to Rebel Country Spectre owned and handled by Lynn Oxendine of Joplin, Missouri.
