Amateur Derby Winners (l-r): Kevin Stuart with Erin's Bad Company, George Mamounis with Newfield Primus, and Bobby Verderosa with Josie.

I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for coming out to show your support for our fall horseback trial on November 4, 2023. It means a lot to us to have you bring your dogs and yourselves out to compete and socialize with us.

A big shout out to our judges, Gus Allimonos and William Bruchey, for putting in the hours in the saddle and giving all our competitors your undivided attention. Thank you to the Southern Bird Hunters Association for your backing and support.

Now, without further preamble, here are the winners. In the Amateur Derby, first place went to Erin's Bad Company, a pointer male owned and handled by Kevin Stuart. Second place was Newfield Primus, a pointer male owned and handled by George (Bo) Mamounis. Last but not least, third place was Josie, a pointer female owned and handled by Bobby Verderosa.

In the Amateur Shooting Dog placements, first place went to Fluid Drive, a pointer male owned by Saverio Morelli and handled by Joseph Lordi Jr. Second place was All American Honky Rock, a setter male owned by Lenny Puchliakow and handled by George (Bo) Mamounis. Our third-place dog was Wayward, an Irish setter male, owned and handled by Roger Boser.
Again, many thanks to all who supported us and volunteered your time and equipment to help us make this trial a success. We could not do this without our many friends and volunteers.
