The Midsouth Field Trial Club held its annual renewal on December 15-17, 2023, at the Hell Creek WMA in Blue Mountain, Mississippi. Due to many conflicting trial dates in the area, this year's entry was down from previous years' running. Nonetheless, ideal weather prevailed, and all the winners this year were well-deserving. Special thanks to Chris Weatherly, who rode the judicial saddle for all three stakes. Joining Chris this year were Mike Small, Joey McAlexander, and Jeremy Taylor, who pitched in to sort out the shooting dogs, derbies, and all-age dogs respectfully.

One highlight this year was 79-year-old Billy Blackwell saddling up once again to guide all-age first-place winner Como Rain to a two-find performance. Rachel, David, and the grandkids were all there to witness! Other stake winners are shown below.
