NGSPA Texas Amateur Shooting Dog Championship: David O'Brien, Terry Bomer with O B's Stick In The Mud, James Messer, James Juergens, Brandon Blum with M S R's Kiss My Lily, James Messer, and Meredith Mays.

The Bedrock Ranch is at the edge of the Texas Hill Country with native rolling terrain and river bottoms. This runs in a continuous course as the course is about two hours long for shooting dogs and an hour and a half for the all-age dogs.

The Amateur Shooting Dog was the first stake to run, with 25 dogs drawn and 25 broke away. Meredith Mays of Arab, Alabama, and James Juergens of Mount Ayr, Iowa, judged the stake. Birds were plentiful, and scenting conditions were good in the morning, but the wind shifted to the east, and scenting conditions were a little rough in the afternoon and into the next morning. O B's Stick In The Mud ("Stick"), owned and handled by David O'Brien and scouted by Terry Bomer, was named champion after having a quality forward race with multiple bird contacts. M S R's Kiss My Lily ("Lily"), owned by James and Sarah Messer, handled by James Messer, and scouted by Brandon Blum, was named runner-up.

The Open All-Age was the next stake to run, with 10 dogs drawn and 10 dogs running. The stake was judged by Meredith Mays and James Juergens. Llano's Game On Greta ("Greta"), owned and handled by Chad Inderman and scouted by Mark Wasserman, was named champion. Greta had several bird contacts with a good forward race. B M B's Free Ride ("Lewey"), owned and handled by Brandon Blum and scouted by Terry Bomer, was named runner-up.

The Open Shooting Dog was the last stake to run, with 19 dogs drawn and 19 competing. This stake was judged by Jerry Langford from Pilot Point, Texas, and Richie Rogers of Wills Point, Texas. Chisholm Creek's Cut'er Loose ("Lucy"), owned and handled by Mark Wasserman and scouted by Chad Inderman, was named champion. Lucy had several bird contacts with a good forward race. O'Brien's Ill Gotten Gains ("Bonnie"), owned and handled by David O'Brien and scouted by Terry Bomer, was named runner-up.
