On November 2, 2024, the Northern New Jersey Field Trial Club held its Fall trial on Indian Creek Shooting Preserve in Hardyston, New Jersey. Fall was surely in the air, and all welcomed the crisp morning. The puppies were first to greet the gathering by showing off their snap, crackle, and pop. Indian Creek Crossfire warmed things up with a screaming forward race, earning the top spot in the Open Puppy, followed by Indian Creek Arrowhead in second place and Indian Creek Stevie Nick staking third.

It was onto the Open Shooting Dog stake where first brace Burr Oak's Savvy, a speedy Vizsla, grabbed (and kept) the attention of judges on a beautiful pheasant find early in her run. She placed third for owner/handler Jason Williams. Coming in hot was Mohawk Mill Trail Warrior hunting his way to the second spot with a pheasant find, two quail finds, and an impressive stop-to-flush on a chukar near finish. Indian Creek Spur dug his heels in on his route to the blue with a classy forward race. His run included a very tempting but expertly handled pheasant find, racking up seven finds total for owner Black Meadow Kennels.

The afternoon Amateur Gun Dog stake brought a bit of a challenge due to dry scenting conditions. Up to the task was Indian Creek Storm Chaser having one well sought after find for owner/handler John Bleeker. K and J Stillwater Winston, Vizsla male, had a fired-up run and an enthusiastic three-find performance for owner/handler Kurt Fedorko. Prevailing through the field was Pointer male Flash for handler Amanda Chiofalo. His composure on four finds made him the top choice for the hay bale podium.
