Result: Cascade Open All-Age and Region 10 Amateur Shooting Dog Championships

CONDON, ORE. -- The 2020 Cascade Open All-Age Championship and Region 10 Amateur Shooting Dog Championship were held on the Buckhorn Ranch located outside of Fossil, Ore. They were was hosted by the Cascade Field Trial Club.

We would like to thank all those who participated, as well as our generous sponsors, Purina and SportDog.

We would especially like to thank landowners Chuck and Kara Kunde. Without this support it would be impossible to put on a field trial.

The Cascade Open All-Age Championship was scheduled to run on or about October 17, 2020. The wife of one of the pro teams was sent to the hospital due to a severe horse kick. This accident and COVID limited the entries.

The number of entries was deemed not to be competitive for a major circuit and National Championship Qualifying stake. As a result, the Cascade Open All-Age Championship was not held.

The Region 10 Amateur Shooting Dog Championship was held October 18, drawing 21 dogs. We thank Judges Lori Steinshouer of Reno, Nev., and Rich Heaton of Boise, Ida., for their time in in the judicial saddles. Both individuals are highly regarded, as they both have won multiple championships, and both have a a keen eye for high class bird dogs.

Out of a field of 21 very competitive dogs, Touch's California Dream was named champion. The four-year-old white and orange pointer male is owned and handled by Tom Griffin of Watsonville, Cal.

Gotta Little Project, seven-year-old pointer male owned and handled by Todd Schaaf of Woodland, Wash., was named runner-up.
