The Sandlapper Field Trial Club held its spring trial from January 31-February 2 on the beautiful grounds of Sawtooth Plantation, owned by the Ivester Family. We can't thank John Ivester enough for allowing us to run on what is considered the premier field trial grounds in South Carolina.
Thank you, Purina and Greg Blair, for their continued support and sponsorship.
One of the biggest tasks of hosting a trial is securing good judges. A big thank you goes out to Steve Browder and Daniel Bell for their time in the saddle.
Thanks to Sandlapper club members Bill Britt, Butch Lilly, and Tim Ruff for putting everything together to make this successful.
A big thank you to Harry Cook Jr. and Harry Cook III for providing the meals and Gail Lilly for the delicious desserts.
The trial started with the Open Derby's large entry of 26 dogs. First place went to Zero Tolerance, handled by Scott Miller and owned by Marty Moore. Second place was Honky Tonk Hiroller, handled by Scott Miller and owned by Stan Wint. Third was Marques Trail Boss, handled by Robert (Lefty) Henry and owned by John Ivester.
First place in the Amateur Derby was Zero Tolerance, handled by Paul Kelly and owned by Marty Moore. Second was Hainlines Raw Honey, handled by Katie Courtney and owned by Katie and Trey Courtney.
The Amateur Shooting Dog had a nice entry of 25 Pointers and two Setters. First place went to Harbor City Express for the second year in a row for handler and owner Tommy Brigman. Second was Barton's Gunfire, handled by Jesse Brown and owned by Joe Barton. Third was Backcountry Bruiser, owned and handled by Chris Catanzarite.
A big thanks to everyone who supported the Sandlapper Field Trial Club.
