The SBHA National Open Shooting Dog Classic was held February 11-16, 2025. The trial drew 71 of the top shooting dogs in the country, providing a very competitive field. The trial was held in Union Springs, Alabama, at the spectacular Conecuh Station field trial venue owned by Tony and Beck Gibson. We thank Tony and Becky for allowing us the privilege to host this trial on such beautiful and commendable grounds.

Our judges for the event were Brad Kennedy of Red Bay, Alabama, and Hunter Clark of Ethel, Mississippi. These two gentlemen gave full attention to every entrant and gave each dog and handler the opportunity to properly show what they could do. Thank you, Brad and Hunter, for judging this event.

We want to say a special thanks to our sponsors. Eukanuba, the ELITE sponsor of the SBHA, was present through much of the running and always works hard to assist in any way possible. Our other sponsors are SportDOG, James O'Neal Dodge, The Saddle Guy, and Gun Dog Central. Please let these sponsors know how much we all appreciate their contributions to our great sport whenever you have the opportunity.

In first place was Smoke'N'Mirrors, a white and liver pointer female who ran in the sixth brace and was handled by Matt Basilone
In second place was Parkway, a white and liver pointer male who ran in the 18th brace and was handled by Mike Tracy.
In third place was Nonami's Johnny Come Lately, a white and orange pointer male who ran in the 23rd brace and was handled by Ray Pearce.

The SBHA National Open Shooting Dog Classic proves each year to be one of the more prominent trials of the season, and this year was no exception--many thanks to everyone who helped in any way to make this trial a huge success. Please join us in February of 2026 for another remarkable event.
