Open Shooting Dog (l-r): Leonard Sinclair with Kinwshkly's Velocity Wynot, Trevor London with Paucek's Up For Adventure, and Ian Corbett with Ponhook's Sassy Pants.
On Saturday, April 26, the Maritime Birddog Club held its annual spring trial. The trial was a success with 22 dogs total competing in Open Shooting Dog, Open Derby, and Gun Dog. The trial was held on the property of Robert Little in Andersonville, New Brunswick. Despite less-than-ideal weather conditions, the trial went great and was enjoyed by all. Leonard Sinclair's Brittany, Wyot, came out on top in a field of 12 shooting dogs with Trevor London's English setter, Magie, winning the Open Derby, and Russell Ogilvie's pointer, Henry, winning the Gun Dog stake. Despite heavy rain, the dogs put on a great show, and the judges, Dale Hackett and Dusty Babin, also had their hands full in those conditions but did a great job. The Club would like to thank everyone for the trial's success and looks forward to next year.
