Result: All-America Open Shooting Dog Championship

The running of the All-America Shooting Dog Championship began September first and was concluded the afternoon of September sixth after six days of running.
The venue for the trial was the Don Miller and son's ranch South of Carson. Six one-hour, courses winding across the vast prairie challenged the dogs as they searched for the wild birds that inhabit the area.
Thirty one juveniles ran in the derby stake and the championship drew 51 entries.
Lynn Oxendine and Dr. Bob Rankin judged the championship and Doug Swingley and Rob Englert judged the derby. Several entries delivered championship type performance's however the winer came in the 19th brace and the runner up ran in the 22nd brace.
Silver W Thunderbolt's Boom captured her first championship for owners Debbie Ozner and George Hickox. Boom was handled by Shawn Kinkelaar. Boom had three perfect finds two of which were particularly outstanding. With Boom's outstanding bird work and a well applied out front ground race she had made her statement.
Panther Creek Rosie was named runner up. Rosie is owned by Frank Rutland and was handled by Tommy Rice Jr. Rosie ran a smooth forward race and like Boom stood three times on game with perfect manners.
First place in the derby was awarded to Babe handled by Jesse Graffam. Babe ran a strong forward race and stood to flush at 10 and 20. Dotty won second in the stake based on her excellent race. Dotty was handled by Brian Gingrich. Pat a pointer male was handled by Jason Loper. Pat had three finds and a stop to flush while running a nice race.
