Open Derby Winners. Left to right: K C's Guitar Man with Ken Sauer, Texas Sonny with Charlie Collier, and Born To Sin with Dr. Buck Neil. Back row: Kate Rowan Craig with Wyatt, Angie Rowan, Alyssa Rowan, Garrett Rowan, Shawn Rowan, E. J. Hall, Melissa Sauer, Ben Kuykendall and Charlie Collier's granddaughter and grandson.

The Cypress Church Club held their fall trial on October 16-17 at the Boyd Ranch in Wortham, Tex. We were blessed with a great turnout and beautiful Fall weather for the weekend.

We drew fifty entries over five stakes. We had twelve dogs in our Amateur Shooting Dog. We drew fourteen in our Open Derby. The NBHA Walking Open Shooting Dog stake had six entries, the NBHA walking Derby had eight and the NBHA Amateur Puppy had ten dogs drawn.

Thanks to Justin Crook coming all the way from Missouri to participate and support our trial. A large time was had by all and we were entertained Saturday night by Kate Rowan Craig picking and singing with backup on the guitar by Ken Sauer!

We were excited to have a very competent cadre of judges for the events. Jason Super and E. J. Hall fulfilled judging duties on the Amateur Shooting Dog Stake. Ben Kuykendall and Tucker Rowan occupied the judging saddles for the Open Derby. Shawn Rowan and Tucker Rowan filled in for the NBHA Open Shooting Dog. Jason Super and Charlie Collier did an excellent job judging the NBHA Open Derby and Kim Hall and Jim Crawford were a welcome addition to judge the NBHA Amateur Puppy Stake.
