North Missouri Field Trial Association hosted its annual NBHA trial on October 11-12 at the Kevin and Heather Western Farm, located in Northeast Missouri near Martinstown. This farm is primarily used for hay. It is lined with edges of timber and native grass, allowing for excellent cover to hold quail throughout the trial. This year, the Westerns added a multi-purpose building with a finished living area that allows guests to be comfortable during inclement weather. A special thanks to the Westerns for allowing the field trial group the opportunity to use their facilities.
With a large draw of entries, it was a combined effort by all who participated to be ready when it was time to run their dogs. Thanks to our judges who gave their full attention and evaluated each dog's performance. Judges were Scott Beeler, Ned Meyers, Doug Watt, and Kevin Western. Kevin Western also handled the dog wagon duties and was assisted on Saturday by visiting past field trialer, Gary Cowell.
North Missouri Field Trial Association would like to thank the NBHA sponsors who provided additional support for this trial--Purina Pro Plan dog food coupons and Gun Dog Supply gift certificates. We also want to recognize the sponsors who support the NBHA throughout the field trial season: Purina Pro Plan, Garmin, Gun Dog Supply, OnX Hunt, Mule Brand Cloths, and Gun Dog Central. Their sponsorship support is greatly appreciated.
