The Carroll County Field Trial Club hosted the running of their annual Amateur stakes November 20-23 near Huntingdon, Tennessee, on land owned primarily by and maintained by David Williams. The three excellent one-hour courses cover land used for the growing of cotton, corn, soybeans, and wheat, plus large areas of conservation reserve type land. Williams' efforts are complemented and expanded by the work of several local club members and others who travel from other states.

Gary McKibben, Phillip Barnett, Lebob Stanfill, Vince Taylor, Michelle Clark, Lisa Little, Jim Atchison, and others worked together with Williams to enable the Thursday through Sunday event to flow smoothly.

Shooting dogs competed first, starting on Thursday afternoon, with eight entries. All-Age competitors went next, with 20 entries. The derbies competed last, with 18 dogs competing and finishing on Sunday afternoon.
