Stillwater Open All-Age

Miss Stylin Sue, First in the Open All-Age Stake.

The Stillwater Open All- Age was again contested in Booneville, Ark., this year.

The weather was nice and there were plenty of birds for a field trial.

We had 27 all-age dogs, eight Derbies and nine handlers competing! We also had a good contingent of owners and spectators for the event.

The weather was pleasing and a good time was had by all.

Thank you to Tom Milam of Ross, Tex., and Kent Patterson of Frankin, Tenn., for judging the trial, Mike Griffin of Stilwell, Okla., for driving the dog wagon, and Purina for generously sponsoring the trial.

The grounds were in good shape. However, we learned "Red" has retired. Red has been responsible for the mowing for many years along with the Manager Brad. We will miss Red.

I would like to thank the handlers for supporting the trial and looking forward to next year. Best of luck for the remainder of the season!

Arkansas owners Dr. Jim Mills and Steve Lightle enjoyed two spots in the winners' circle at this renewal, first with their Miss Stylin Sue, and third with Lowrider Frank, both handled by Allen Vincent.

Longtime Colorado patron Brad Calkins secured the second spot with Westfall's River Ice, handled by Andy Daugherty.

In the Derby, Bruce Sooter and Brad Tolson's setter female Wynona's Nickleback Sugar garnered the first place slot.
