Region 4 Amateur Walking SD ChF25-

Region 4 Amateur Walking Shooting Dog Championship: Keith Anderson with Affinity and Adam DeLude with Alliwood's Never Say Never. (Second row): Mike Jackson (judge), Austin Turley, Mike Fox, Matt Miller, Keith Wright, and Jessica Wright. (Third row): Keith Lowry (judge), Brandon Smith, John Vanada, C. J. Campbell, Jeff Haggis, and Kenny Norrington.

The AFTCA Region 4 Walking Shooting Dog Championship was held at the renowned Redwood Farm grounds in Covington, Indiana. Conditions were favorable, and the courses--well known for their rolling terrain and bird-rich cover--provided an excellent stage for a competitive and memorable stake. Presiding over this year's Championship were judges Mike Jackson of Battle Ground, Indiana, and Keith Lowry of Effingham, Illinois, both bringing deep experience and respected judgment to the event.

A strong field competed, but Affinity rose to the top to earn the Region 4 Championship. Affinity delivered a composed, consistent hour, running a good, solid, forward race while staying connected to the course and the handler. The dog secured three well-spaced finds, each handled with poise and confidence, demonstrating the kind of mature, steady performance expected of a champion.

Earning runner-up champion honors was Alliwood's Never Say Never, which put down an exciting and energetic performance. Never Say Never logged three finds and showed a good, driving race, demonstrating power and range throughout the hour. While at times the race grew a bit wild and erratic, the overall quality and bird work were strong enough to earn a well-deserved runner-up placement.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Purina Pro Plan for their continued support of this championship and the walking field trial community. Their longstanding commitment to the sport plays a vital role in making events like this possible.
Both dogs showcased the talent, drive, and bird sense that define top-tier walking shooting dogs, making this year's Region 4 Championship an event to remember at Redwood Farm.
