The 2025 running began on Thursday October 23 at the Hell Creek Wildlife Management Area in Blue Mountain, Ms. The staff of the Mississippi Wildlife Fisheries and Parks had the grounds in good shape. We are very thankful for all they do for field trials at Hell Creek. We were glad to have Richard Tollison, one of the founding members of the Hell Creek FTC along with HOF member Mr. Billy Morton come have lunch and ride the dog wagon with us for a brace during the amateur. Also we want to thank Sportsman's Pride for their sponsorship of this trial. Gift cards for dog food were given to amateur placements and are always well received. We greatly appreciate everyone's support of this trial, the amateur stakes filled all four days with 18 amateur all age, 21 amateur derby and 18 for the Jimmy Dale Downs Memorial Amateur Shooting Dog.

Amateur Stakes
We kicked off the amateur stakes with the all age. Judges were Brad Kennedy and Kyle Graves, we thank them for their time and attention given to each competitor. Taking the top spot was Mr. Arkansas owned and handled by Mike Lemons, he had three finds with a big race. Second place was Storm's End owned by Matt and Megan Pendergest and handle by Matt, with two good finds and a big race. Third place was awarded to Haney's Hurricane Seeker owned and handled by David Russell, his placement was based on huge all age race. Judges for the amateur derby was Korry Rinehart and Kyle Graves. First place was Dialed again owned and handled by Matt Pendergest, second place was Coldwater Swagger owned and handled by Gary McKibben, placing third was Cocklebur Cat 5 Hurricane owned and handled by Bubba Spencer. Each dog had a good find accompanied by a good race. Korry and Kyle was back in the saddle for the Jimmy Dale Downs Memorial Shooting Dog Stake. Placing first was Cooper's Rebel Buddy owned and handled by Bryce Cooper with two good finds and a nice race. Placing second was Southern Shadows T Bone and third was Southern Anacline Lane both owned and handled by Brian Peterson. Both dogs had one find with good races to secure their spot.

Open Stakes
The D. Hoyle Eaton Memorial Open All-Age began on Tuesday October 28. Twenty-five dogs were drawn and came to the line for judges Greg Bain and Joe Hughes. They paid close attention to each competitor and we thank them for their time and attention given to all. Taking the top spot was Miller's Triple Crown for owner Al Bryson and handler Korry Rinehart, he had three finds and a big all age race to claim the number one spot. Placing second was Lester's War Bird for owner handler Gary Lester. War Bird also had the finds and a big race. Gary Lester also handled third place dog Sunset Sam Houston for owners Matthew and Stacey Brown. He had two good finds and a nice all age race to claim his spot. In the derby ten dogs were drawn and came to the line. Placing second was Lester's Thunder Road for owner handler Gary Lester. Third place was Apache Storm for owner handler Korry Rinehart. Both dogs were credited with one find accompanied with all age races to claim their placements. Thanks to everyone who supported this trial.
