The NGSPA Region 7 Amateur Shooting Dog was held at Lake Murray Field Trial Grounds, Ardmore, Oklahoma. A big thank you to the sponsors of Region 7--Purina and SportDOG. Greg Blair with Purina and Jim Morehouse with SportDOG have supported field trials for quite some time, and their help is very appreciated. Thank you to all the judges who spent their time in the saddle judging all the dogs. A big thank you to everyone for attending and making this trial a great event. The OFTCA has cleared, mulched, burned, and dozed the grounds, which were in top shape. We had 19 dogs drawn, and 19 dogs broke away. The stake was judged by Scott Bodenstab and T. J. Hidalgo. The stake broke away the morning of February 7. The weather was mild with cloudy skies and good scenting conditions. The champion was O B's Stick In The Mud ("Stick"), and the runner-up was M S R's Kiss My Lily ("Lily"). Both dogs had nice, forward-flowing races with good bird work.

The NGSPA Region 7 All-Age broke away on Monday, March 9. The wind was strong, making for tough conditions for the dogs and handlers. The judges were T. J. Hildago and Dan Campbell. There were 13 dogs drawn, and 13 dogs broke away. The champion was Ream's Winnie ("Winnie"), owned by Derrick and Kaitlyn Ream, handled by Brandon Blum. The runner-up champion was Texas Preacher Man ("Mike"), owned by Kirk and Terry Bomer, handled by Keith Gulledge, and scouted by Robbi Gulledge. Winnie and Mike were braced together in the first brace, and both dogs had very forward races, working the cover with numerous bird contacts. This brace held up for the rest of the stake.

The NGSPA Region 7 Derby Classic ran on the afternoon of March 10. The stake was judged by James Messer and Brandon Blum. We had five dogs drawn, and five dogs ran. First place Hi-Tailyn Sersi ("Sersi") is owned, handled, and bred by Scott Bodenstab. Second place went to LPK's Maverick's Running Wild ("Maverick"), owned by Joe Burch, handled by Keith Gulledge, and bred by Robbi Gulledge. This pair of dogs ran together with strong races and bird work.
The NGSPA Region 7 Open Shooting Dog was judged by T. J. Hildago and Dan Campbell. We drew 13 dogs, and 13 dogs broke away. The weather was nice, and the dogs were ready to run. The champion, O'Brien's Ill Gotten Gains ("Bonnie") from Brace 1, owned and handled by David O'Brien, had a nice forward-flowing shooting dog race with numerous bird finds. Bonnie set the bar for all of the rest of the dogs. The runner-up was B D K's Sam I Am ("Sam"), owned by David O'Brien, handled by Keith Gulledge, and scouted by Robbi Gulledge. Sam had a nice shooting dog race with several finds.
