The North Missouri Field Trial Club held its annual fall trial October 8 on Bill Westfall's Browning, Mo., grounds. The grounds were amazing, as usual, but the weather turned out hot.

We hosted three stakes -- Open Shooting Dog, Amateur All-Age, and Amateur All-Age Derby. Even though the weather turned out hot, the competition was tough and we had some good performances.

Youngster Charlie Beeler took first in the sShooting Dog with his nice pointer female, Beeler's Miss Mizzou. It was great to have Charlie here handling his dog. Scott Beeler took second with his pointer male Beeler's Black Jack. Third with Dr. Gary Cowell's nice setter, Fabius River Bad Habit.

Rodney Shoemaker brought a string of nice young dogs and took home first place in the Amateur All-Age with his nice young pointer female, H P Dirty Dancing. Jim Giles brought some nice dogs and took home second in the All-Age with Rich Thorton's pointer Mercer County Erin's Mike. It was great to have Garvin Collins and Rob Downin here. Garvin took home third place honors in the All-Age with his nice pointer female, Lampost Black Rage.

As I said, Rodney Shoemaker brought some very nice young dogs and took home first and second in the Amateur (All-Age) Derby with H P Shots Fired and H P Shockwave, respectively. It was good to have Steve Auxier at our trial and he took home third with his nice Derby Intensive Spinal Tap.

The weather was hot but these competitors had their dogs in shape and looking good.

The weather was hot but in spite of that I believe a good time was had by all. We want to give a special thank you to Bill Westfall for allowing the North Missouri Club the use of these amazing grounds.

We would also like to thank all of the judges--Tim Penn, Rodney Shoemaker, Steve Auxier, and Garvin Collins.

A thank you to all of the participants and judges. Without your support we would not be able to have a trial.
