Putting on a trial is a tremendous amount of work, before, during, and after.

We would like to thank everyone from the competitors who supported the trial, Chairman Greg Strausbaugh, the bird planters Bob Verderosa, Steve Boyer, Darren Boyer, and Ted Foust; cooks Ted Foust, Chelsey and Gunner Boyer and all the club members.

We thank all the handlers for supporting our trial.

Last but never least, Judges Ken Huyser and Sheila Hart for judging the Open stakes; and Nancy Huyser and Sheila Hart for judging the Amateur stakes.

Amateur Derby Winners Bad Bourbon Blazing Hot Chick

OPEN STAKES WINNERS

In the Open Shooting Dog, Miller's Strolling For Gold captured the blue. This classy pointer sailed around the course scoring three perfect finds with a fancy forward race. High Drive Fancy Pants took second with six stellar finds and classy, forward race. Miller's Blazing Hot Chick claimed third with three nice finds and a strong, forward race.

The Open Derby was full of excitement as theses youngsters took the field. Steel Valley Raven rose to the top of the field with five stylish finds, nicely handled stop to flush and a classy, forward race for handler Jeanette Tracy and owner Harry Blaine. Miller's Flowers and Lace earned second with five nice finds and a strong, forward race. Miller's Automatic Upgrade won third with four pretty finds and a back, with a forward race.

AMATEUR STAKES WINNERS

The Gerald Tracy Memorial Amateur Shooting Dog was held on Saturday, October 9, with thirteen entries competing.

Bad Bourbon topped the field with four beautiful finds always to the front and working well with his owner and handler, Gunner Boyer. Chomping at his heels, Bull Finch scored four nice finds and two backs, classy and forward race for owners Ernie and Karen Saniga, handler Ernie Saniga. Little Wing Inked Up took third with four good finds and a back, forward and strong race for owner-handler George Mamounis.

The Amateur Derby finished the day with excitement. Oh how the young ones floated over the course.

Taking first was Jolene Jolene. She nailed three perfect finds, never flinched as her bracemate took her birds on her second find. She ran a strong, classy, forward race for her owner and handler David McKay. Splitting hairs for second Boyer's Running Buck Wild had four stylish finds and a strong forward race for owner-handler Gunner Boyer. Third was earned by Bull Biscuit scoring two pretty finds with a forward race for owners Ernie and Karen Saniga and handler Erinie Saniga.
