Result: Wolf River Field Trial Club

HICKORY VALLEY, TENN. -- This year's running of the Wolf River Club's amateur field trial was held January 21 through January 24 on the Peterson, Powers, White and Weaver Farms in Hickory Valley, Tenn.

The weather this year was very favorable for the four days of entries. Every brace in the All-Age and Shooting Dog Stakes had bird work. There were a few Derbies that had bird work.

Professional handler Randy Anderson and Ross Leonard were the judges for the All-Age Stake and placed Cocklebur King Tut first. He had a nice forward running ground race and three finds for handler Bubba Spencer. Superstition Jake, owned by Ric Peterson and handled by Bubba Spencer, with four finds and a nice ground race to garner second. Third was Misty Morn Masked Man with two finds, an unproductive, and a big race for owner-handler Joey McAlexander.

The Shooting Dog Stake was judged by Keith Bollendorf and Daniel Bolden. Game On was first with one find and an unproductive for owner-handler Kent Walker. Cocklebur Drama Queen was second with three finds and an unproductive for owner-handler Amy Spencer. Seeking A Thrill earned third with four finds and an unproductive for Ross Leonard.

Keith Bollendorf and Elton Bray were the judges for the Derby and named River City Jett winner. She had a big up-front race for owner-handler Kent Walker. Como Thunder, handled by David Russell, was second with a nice big ground race and one find. Third was Small's White Charger, owned by Mike Small with a good ground race and one find.

A big thank-you to Amy and Bubba Spencer, Squeaky Powell, Ken Blackman, and David Wynn for making sure the trial ran smoothly.
