Result: Ridgerunners and Sandy Valley Bird Dog Clubs

The Ridgerunners Bird Dog Club and the Sandy Valley Bird Dog Club teamed up again for a weekend of amateur walking and amateur horseback stakes on the weekend of April 24-25 at the Freeland Kennel Club near Weatherly, Pa.

The grounds at Freeland Kennel Club are in great shape and all the facilities make for a great venue to host a trial.

As always a good trial is only possible through the hard work of many people. We were blessed on this weekend to have help from just about everyone. The kitchen duties were handled by Deann Deritis, Siri Bogar and Catherine Grogan. Highlight of the weekend was the handlers' dinner that these wonderful ladies prepared on Saturday evening.

Alex Smith, Gunner Boyer, Roger Dvorak, Marty Zukovich, John Capocci, Larry King and Andy Bogar all volunteered their time to judge. Thank you, gentleman, for your time and we were all lucky to run dogs under such a great panel of judges.

Dean Avillion and Howard Wright brought their UTVs to the grounds which helped out tremendously. Roger Dvorak and Dave McKay loaned their horses for some of the judges and also to help with scouting.

Purina and Greg Blair deserve recognition for providing dog food coupons for all U. S. Complete placements and also some great prizes to raffle after Saturdays handlers dinner.

Saturday was the Amateur Walking Puppy and Amateur Walking Shooting Dog Stakes and were sanctioned by the U. S. Complete Shooting Dog Association.

Sunday featured Amateur (Horseback) Derby and Amateur (Horseback) Shooting Dog Stakes which were run under the Eastern Pennsylvania Field Trial Association.

After Sunday's horseback stakes, we finished the weekend up with a nice entry for a Amateur. Walking Shooting (Gun) Dog Stake. Winners of all stakes are listed below and photos included.
