The Winners. From left: Johnny Van Horn, judge; Andy Daugherty with Westfall's Mandalay,
Matt Cochran, Barry Ward, judge; Allen Vincent with Lowrider Frank, Bob Barker and Lynn Oxendine.

INOLA, OKLA. -- I would like to start off by thanking Purina for all they do to help field trials without the support they give we could not put trials on. Greg Blair does a wonderful job taking care of our sport. I wish to thank him a lot.

We also add our thanks and appreciation to the Ingersoll family for their hospitality in providing the Ingersoll Ranch as a venue for our trials for more than sixty years.

We had a short entry but lots of quality dogs. The weather was warm, windy conditions were tough at best. A lot of dogs done a good job worked hard as did the handlers. The judges rode hard looked over the dogs Barry Ward of Topeka, Kan., and Johny VanHorn Arkansas did a great job I with to thank them for their effort. These are the dogs they chose.

THE WINNERS

First was Westfall's Mandalay pointer male handled by Andy Daugherty. Bill Westfall's pointer ran a great race coupled with three good finds with style and grace. He is a powerful dog with good rapport to handler. A well deserved win.

Second was Lowrider Frank in the string of Allen Vincent. Frank rendered a steady all-age race like he always does. He is always around birds seems to know where to find them. He had also had three finds well handled and looked great on his game in front, and finished strong.

Miss Stylin Sue, also handled by Vincent, ran a very forward all-age race easy to keep to front. She runs big but stays in contact with handler. This coupled with two nice finds with style earned her the placement.

In conclusion, we had a good trial, good judges who did a good job.

Thanks to Lynn Oxendine for helping with lunches and marshalling. Bob Barker who marshaled open gates and what ever he could do. Barry Moore helped marshal and got gates also. Wish to thank all these folks for their help.
