Result: Northern New Jersey Field Trial Club

On May 8 the Northern New Jersey Field Trial Club held its spring 2021 field trial.

As it seems to be a tradition, wet weather once again made an appearance. With everyone having a case of cabin fever (due to winter storms and the pandemic) the weather was not a deterrent and brought a good field of dogs and competitors.

THE WINNERS

Claiming first place was pointer male Pure Confidence having a strong, forward race in the spring rain with three finds. He met his game with style and patience as his handler produced some not so cooperative birds. Vying for second and third place was father and son team Indian Creek Perfect Storm ("P") and Flash. This was an exciting brace to watch with each dog taking his turn pointing and honoring. It was a family affair! P's forward finish earned him second place handled by his owner John Bleeker. His son, Flash, took third handled by his owner Steve Chiofalo. Handlers worked as well together as their dogs demonstrating that the sport of field trialing can bring all generations together-- both man and canine!

Pure Confidence, First in the Open Shooting Dog Stake

In the Amateur Shooting, Perfect Storm hunted his way to victory, earning the blue ribbon. Second place went to Erin's Hollywood for owner-handler John Avanzato with a stylish, comfortable ground pattern and polish on birds. Third went to a fun-filled setter, Winchester of Erskine ("Winn") having two finds.
