NEW GLARUS, WIS. -- Springtime in Wisconsin is always unpredictable. The Southern Wisconsin Field Trial Club held its spring trial April 13-14 at Oasis Game Farm in New Glarus with Mother Nature continuing to show her strength with cold temperatures.
We would like to thank all of those who braved the conditions to run dogs and compete. This special venue is capable of holding trials in all weather conditions.
The hospitality of this area is second to none and a good time was had by all. Zach Hilton and Larry Chamberlain accepted the honors of judging our weekend trial of the spring. Steve Donovan and Mike Roper took the reins for the Derby dogs.
After riding and looking at dogs for two days, they chose the best of the weekend. Winners are listed below. Thank you to our judges for taking time and care to choose the correct dogs on their day's performance. Many of the dogs and handlers have competed at the top levels in this sport making placing here an accomplishment.
Tom Waite is a pro who shows a high level of support to field trials and we appreciate his dedication at all levels. Others in attendance this weekend,
Andrea Wood, Ken Black, John and Deb Dlobik, John ( Dale Creek Kit) and A. J. Youngblouth (Cuppa Joe) bring strong dogs and are always challenging for the top placements. Thank you all for your support. Scott Hauer, Brian Robert, Courtney Campeau, Hyrel Henke competed for the first time at this trial and made a strong German Shorthair presence.
This trial could not be completed without the great bird planters, the Scott and Scott team. We are looking forward to continuing this trial and maintaining an atmosphere for new participants and veterans to work together and enjoy our great sport. Thanks to all.
