COLLIERVILLE, TENN. -- The National Bird Hunters Association held its annual meeting July 24 at the Marriott Courtyard in Collierville, Tenn. Following the meeting, a shuttle bus provided transportation to the National Bird Dog Museum in Grand Junction, Tenn.
The Awards ceremony recognizing last year's Dog and Handler of the Year winners, NBHA Hall of Fame inductees, along with an auction and raffle were held there.
NBHA 2021 Annual meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by President Ken Sauer.
Secretary Tim Penn proceeded with the roll call of officers and State Directors. Officers present were President Ken Sauer, Secretary Tim Penn, Treasurer Ray Brown, 1st Vice-President Greg Blair, and Futurity Director Jim Ogle. State Directors were: Arkansas, Glenn Cumbie; Illinois, Jeff Hainline; Kentucky, Gary Vitali; and Missouri, Jim Ogle.
Annual Meeting minutes from 2020 were sent electronically to the Board for review on June 13 prior to the meeting. Motion was made by Greg Blair and seconded by Gary Vitali to accept the minutes. Approved.
Officers then gave their yearly reports. Election of officers and current officers are Current President Ken Sauer, Alvord, Tex., Current 1st V-P Greg Blair, Menomonee Falls, Wis.; Re-elected 2d V-P Jacob Starnes, Derby, Kan.; Elected 3d V-P Joseph Hopkins, London, Ky.; Current Secretary Tim Penn, Edina, Mo.; Current Treasurer Ray Brown, Dothan, Ala.; Current Futurity Director Jim Ogle, Jasper, Mo.
The season's 2021-2020 Championship dates and locates were approved.
The Award ceremony was held at the Bird Dog Museum starting at 5:00 p.m.
Bird Dog Foundation Executive Director Tonya Brotherton once again provided an outstanding spread of hors d'oeuvres and refreshments. Many of the guests toured the museum to view the historical exhibits.

OPEN SHOOTING DOG: Winner - Pure Confidence, white and liver pointer male; Black Meadow Kennels, Ho Ho Kus, N.J., owner. Runner-up - Sulphur Bend Woodman, white and liver German Shorthaired pointer; Emmet Sasser, Luther, Okla., owner.
OPEN DERBY: Winner - Jimfork's Hawkeye Buck, white and liver pointer male; Kenny Snow, Okla., owner. Runner-up - Blair's Calvary Mountain, white and orange pointer male; Greg Blair, Menomonee, Wis., owner.
OPEN PUPPY: Winner - Indian Creek Sprout; Jillian Stuhr, owner.
Runner-up - Sasser's Jim Beam; Tom Woods, owner.
AMATEUR SHOOTING DOG: Winner - Craig's Runin Roxie, pointer female; Craig Hiatt, Edgerton, Mo., owner. Runner-up - Penrosa Behrdevil, pointer male; Tim Penn, Edina, Mo., owner.
AMATEUR DERBY: Winner - Blair's Calvary Mountain; Greg Blair, owner. Runner-up - Firebug, setter female; Chuck Maxson, Clearwater, Kan., owner.
AMATEUR PUPPY: Winner - Carpenter's Touch Of Class; Kevin Carpenter, owner. Runner-up - Carpenter's Blue Moon; Will Carpenter, owner.

OPEN SHOOTING DOG: Winner - Garry Malzone, Franklin, N. J. Runner-up - Emmet Sasser, Luther, Okla.
OPEN DERBY: Winner - Kenny Snow, Adair, Okla. Runner-up - Tom Waite, Burlington, Wis.
OPEN PUPPY: Winner - Garry Malzone. Runner-up - Kenny Snow.
AMATEUR SHOOTING DOG: Winner - Tim Penn. Runner-up - Craig Hiatt.
AMATEUR DERBY: Winner - Chuck Maxson. Runner- up - Greg Blair.
AMATEUR PUPPY: Winner - Kevin Carpenter. Runner-up - Will Carpenter.

OPEN HANDLER OF THE YEAR -- Garry Malzone.
AMATEUR HANDLER OF THE YEAR -- Brent Hoehns.
The evening was finalized with the Hall of Fame inductees. NBHA Hall of Fame inductee in the dog category is multiple champion Hobb's Silver Belle, white and liver pointer female owned by Keith and Jan Foreman of Sulfur, Okla.
Two persons were honored by induction into the NBHA Hall of Fame -- Glenn Cumbie of Fort Smith, Ark., and the late Larry Carpenter, Clarksburg, Mo.
