The 2022 Alabama Amateur Field Trial took place on December 1-4 at Blue Mountain, Mississippi, at the beautiful Hell Creek Wildlife Management Area grounds. We want to express our thanks to Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks for the tremendous work they do on these grounds to make them so hospitable for our sport. We very much appreciate the time and effort the state of Mississippi puts into its natural resources so that its citizens can enjoy the outdoors at sporting events like field trials.

The Club would also like to thank its sponsor, Sportsman's Pride Dog Food, for its generous and continued support of our sport, as well. The Club enjoyed delicious meals each day provided by club member, Melissa Bain, and this author was happy to pitch in, as well. Our Club is always a joint effort including the work contributed by various folks, including marshals Brad Kennedy, Joe Hughes, John Chandler Strickland, and our stake manager and secretary, Greg Bain. We also appreciate our club member who drove our dog wagon, Ronald Thrasher. We also want to thank our very capable judges for their time and effort: Club Member, Lowry Strickland of Holly Springs, Mississippi, and Hunter Clark of Bethel, Mississippi. We appreciate the time and careful attention each judge gave to the entries in front of them.

James R. Page Memorial Amateur All-Age
Dialed In swooped in to win this year's All-Age stake, out of a field of twenty strong contenders (19 pointers and one setter). This beautiful multi-champion white and orange pointer female, handled by Matt Pendergest, is a nine-year-old veteran, and she showed us all she still has what it takes, garnering this year's trophy with four elegant finds and a brilliant race on the first hour course Friday morning. Dialed In is a daughter of Miller's Dialing In.

Coincidentally, Dialed In's half-brother, Misty Morn Masked Man, pointer male, also out of the great Miller's Dialing In, won second place. Masked Man always does well at this trial, having retired the trophy last year after three consecutive first place wins. He is owned and handled by Joey McAlexander. He had three strong finds and a great race on the second hour Thursday afternoon to take his winnings.

Phillips Linebacker, pointer male, handled by Mike Small, and owned by Orrin Ingram and Nathan Phillips, took the third-place award. He ran on the second hour Friday morning to secure his placement, and had two handsome finds, a back and a strong forward race.
